Hello,
The student counselling service is organising a Presentation Skills Talk on Wed, 17 May 2006, 3.15pm - 6.30pm. You will learn skills on how to present more effectively and how to write good reports. If you interested to come for the talk, pls register at the Student Affairs Office, Blk E Lev. 4.You will be awarded One CCA point when you attend the talk/workshop and stay till the end.see you.

Do be reminded that you will have to send in the names of your group leaders tomorrow. Do make use of the contact list to get your group members and discuss on who will be appointed as leader. Any groups without an elected leader will have their leader selected randomly.

NYP-NCC COMMITEE SELECTION

The NYP-NCC committee selection is now on. There will be no interview but all members would be required to answer a few questions. There will be no specific format, it's your points that matters.

The committee will make up of members from all the years of study. (year 1 to 3)

MEETING

there will be a meeting this friday at 12.30 pm. The
meeting will be held in front of the central canteen, the one with
Macdonalds, Grinning Gecko and Splash and Decker. Do hang around
the area in front of the ambassadorial club notice board, ONE LEVEL UP (LEVEL 3). Bring
along your writing materials.

i strongly encourage all to come. there's many admin issues to settle, take it as a meet and greet session.

Updates From The Desk of RSM

-No.3 for land units means Smart 4(no.4 with badges)

-Finger nails are to be kept short..

-No side burns for the hair.. and must have a slope at the back.. Basically juz keep it short and presentable...
(well.. actually juz follow school rules can le...)

-Berets or Jockey Caps are to be placed under your left epaulette...

-The NCC crest should be facing downwards when placed under your left epaulette...

-Either Berets or jockey caps can be worn on the uniform at any one time meaning if you're wearing a beret... you can't put a jockey cap under your left Epaulette...

-When wearing of the Beret, da base of the beret muz be level to the ground... hair in front muz tuck in.. there should be no dangling hair in front of your face... and the tail behind muz also tuck in...

-NCC epaulette must be worn at all times when you're wearing your uniform...

-Army NCC badge muz always be worn about 4 fingers above your upper left pocket
(Muz be worn whether ur wearing all your badges or not...)

-Starching of the uniform is not allowed...
(The starch will block the pores of the uniform and heat will not be able to escape from your uniform thus, heat will accumulate and u may pass out because of da tremendous amount of heat trapped in your body)

-Standing collar is optional...
(There are various ways to which the collar can stand without the usage of starch... A steam iron will do the trick... If not... After you iron your collar, use clips and clip the edge of the folded part of your collar and leave it overnight)

-Rank has to be fully shown
(This is to allow people to see your rank easily and not mistaken a 1st.Sergeant as a Staff Sergeant because he folded the sleeve till it blocked the singapura)

-Name tags are to be sewn. name tag are not suppose to be velcro.. velcro name tags are for the old uniform.
(We're following more closely to the SAF now..)

-Lanyards cannot be worn without badges..
(Lanyards are considered part of the badges too..)

-All pockets are to be buttoned up at all times.. unless you wanna take something or put something in it...
(This will make the uniform look less shaggy...)

-Side velcros are to be velcroed all the way to the max of your body size
(Also to make you look less shaggy and more smartly)

-Boots must be darkened and not polished
(NCC is following SAF more closely now... SAF has scraped off polishing boots since long tym ago... so we're also gonna follow them)

-No foreign objects are to be worn together with the uniform..
(Using rubber bands to replace the gluttous is a nono... or using rubber bands to hold your sleeve is a nono too no other caps other den da jockey cap and beret to be worn.. and any other foreign objects...)]

all of the above rules applies to all NCC Cadets and Cadet Lieutenants. No doubts about it. There are no privileges given to CLTs in anyway. All rules are meant to be kept and uphold by everyone. cheers =)

Greetings, kindly note that this is how you place your beret under your left epaulette of your respective uniform. CLTs and all Cadets from Part "A" to Part "D" is allowed to place their beret as shown above when not in use. No discrimination and please DO NOT place your beret in your side or back pocket of your pants. Please pass the word around. Your District Commanders will be sending this instruction to your school unit CO's by this week. Kindly inform me, if you find any CLT or Specialists not following my instructions. Give me their contact numbers and i will brief them separately.
